Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year. It’s not just about pulling out my cherished cake stands to fill with cookies baked alongside my kids or laughing at the nativity set with Joseph’s leg permanently repaired with playdough. It’s all of the in-between moments—sharing stories, creating memories, and spending time together—that make this season so special.
With Christmas just around the corner (don’t worry, I know it’s already on your radar!), I wanted to share a few simple tips to make hosting feel effortless, joyful and BEAUTIFUL.
Add a Bow
Bows and Christmas go together like marshmallows and hot chocolate. For a recent holiday party at our store, we tied little nude velvet bows to the stems of wine glasses. It was such an easy DIY, and added so much festive charm. The best part? You don’t need to store a thing after the season—just untie and reuse the ribbon next year.
While you’re entertaining, why not try this Apple Cider Fall Sangria? It was a hit at our Sip N Shop gathering:
Apple Cider Fall Sangria
1 bottle of white wine (like Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc)
2 cups apple cider
2 medium apples, diced
1 orange, thinly sliced
2 cinnamon sticks
¼ cup brandy (optional)
Ice cubes for serving
Garnish with cranberries
Combine everything in a pitcher, chill for a couple of hours, and serve over ice. So simple, and it feels like Christmas in a glass!
Layer In Natural Greens
Christmas doesn’t have to take over your entire home—unless that’s your vibe, in which case, go for it! I prefer mixing in small, festive touches with my core decor. On the table, fresh greens like evergreen, eucalyptus, and Christmas trimmings create a naturally beautiful tablescape. Add pops of red with taper candles for a subtle, elegant nod to the holiday.
Simple Swaps for a Festive Feel
For a dinner table that feels festive without fuss, use holiday napkins. A crisp green napkin against a white dinner plate is an easy way to bring in some holiday cheer, and they’re simple to store after the season. Our Alpine Napkins are perfect for this sweet, holiday touch.
